Why Madinah KEC ?

Why Madinah KEC ?

King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz commissioned "Madinah Knowledge Economic City" in 2006 and it is located in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The KEC was established in Madinah because of its great historical importance as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) selected this city as his home. Madinah is not only one of the oldest cities in the world, but it is also the deeply revered site for the Muslims. The purpose of establishing Knowledge Economic City is to project Saudi Arabia and young Saudi entrepreneurs as internationally renowned and respected leaders while also attracting and developing leadership talent from across the globe. KEC will combine the concepts of Microsoft’s interior frontier, Cisco’s smart city and Intel Corporation’s digital city. The organization is expected to generate 20,000 new job opportunities, attract a population of 150,000 and its world class accommodations will also facilitate thousands of visitors on regular bases. The Knowledge Economic City will provide a much needed platform for Saudi Arabia’s small business entrepreneurs and IT industry as they are in desperate need of a competitive environment to develop and grow. The institute will further provide distance learning opportunities to these entrepreneurs and utilize the skilled female talent pool in and around Madinah. It also aims at creating global opportunities, providing infrastructure and a pool of talented individuals that will facilitate companies and investors doing business in Saudi Arabia to have a healthy return on investment. MILE's unique and prestigious location in Knowledge Economic City empowers us to take the leading position in the development of the area and to promote KEC in the international markets and business sectors.
